Gajapokkiri Malayalam Movie Review
Gajapokkiri is the Malayalam movie, which is dubbed from Telugu Movie Julayi directed by director Trivikram Srinivas. Film stars Allu Arjun and Ileana D’Cruz. As usual film has all the ingredients for the Allu Arjun Fans to celebrate. Be it his usual fun loving guy, or be it his amazing actions, or be it his stylish dances. However this film too has an equal share for the Villian Sonu Sood too. However the plot of the movie doesn’t have anything new. Also we have some logic less action scenes for that matter. Yet the film do have some nice moments in the first half and also offer some good performances.
The film talk about the story of Ravindra Narain (Allu Arjun) who likes to make quick money. On the other hand his father Narayana Murthy (Tanikella Bharani) is a hard-working person. Ravindra met Bittu (Sonu Sood) when the later is attempting to rob a bank for over 1500 crores. Ravindra soon helps Commissioner Raja Manikyam (Rao Ramesh) to arrest Bittu. There starts the revenge story. And later Narayana Murthy sends his son to his friend ASP Sitharam’s (Rajendra Prasad) home were he fell in love with ASP’s daughter, Madhu (Ileana)
Coming to the story the director, who is known for his good scripts, made his best in the first half however in the second half he has lost his usual thunder. Especially we audience left wondering where is Madhu, the love interest of Ravindra disappear with out a trace. Also the overdose of actions too did not help him either. We also may wonder if Ravindra is there to shoot and catch all the criminals, then why we need a police department?
On the contradiction Trivikram did his best and succeeded in bringing Allu Arjun’s best performance till now. And Trivikram’s comic filled dialogues where the highlights of the film. Allu Arjun is the saving factor of Allu Arjun with his energetic performance. The comic department too came up with a spirited performance where Brahmandam leading from the front. Ileana looked glamorous in her roles, especially in songs for an otherwise forgettable role. And Rajendra Prasad as ASP did a fabulous job too. Other characters too comes up with some fantastic supports for the lead.
Technical department too was good and the highlight was the song composed by Devi Sri Prasad and a stylish dance performance by Allu. The songs are pictured lavishly. However I wonder the lyrics of the film was just to suit the lip synchronization and did not make any attempt to convey the real meaning of the song. Cinematography by Chota K Naidu and Shyam K naidu was good. Editor, Costumer too supported the entire crew.
Julayi has some nice moments with Super performance of Allu, Rajendra Prasad, and a good comedy filled first half. Watch this Stylish movie as the posters say “We need to wait one Allu Arjun Movie for 1 year 2 months and 7 days “.
