Mr Marumakan, directed by Sandhya Mohan is a mass entertainer, where Dileep comes up with a spectacular job. Also the rest of the cast was supported him well. However Udayakrishna – Sibi K Thomas, who was known for their great scripts, yet again came up with a not so good not so bad script and continued to give brainless entertainer. The films strength was to score on the comedy department and they did able to achieve that goal to some extent. However in the second half film failed to evoke many laughs. And the unnecessary dragging of the story extended the duration to 3 hours for a film that could have easily be told within 2 hours. However the script has all Romance, action, emotions, comedy scenes hence the movie can’t be rated as a bad one.

Coming to the story, Ashok Raj (Dileep) a lawyer, but he spends most of the time in his drama troupe Bharatha Kalakshethram. And he decides to direct a drama and to play the lead role as well. For getting a suitable name to an artist he changed his name to Ashok Chakravarthy. We also has his brother Babu Raj (Biju Menon), who runs a company, which is in a financial crises. Balasubramanyam, (Bhagyarah), the ombudsman decides to go ahead with the legal charges against Babu raj’s  company. Because of this Babu Raj’s life is not that well with his wife Raja Mallika (Kushboo), daughter Raja Lakshmi (Sanusha) and his mother in low Raja Kokila (Sheela). However introduction of Ashok against them makes some funnier moments of the film and a little love track between Ashok Raj and Raja Lakshmi.

There is plenty of room for Dileep fans to celebrate, and the actor will not disappoint with his spectacular acting and comic numbers. And the lady trio Kushboo, Sanusha and Sheela comes up with a good performance as well, where Khusboo is leading from the front. Biju Menon and Bhagyaraj supported the lead well. The comic department did evoke some nice moments where Baburaj, Suraj venjarumoodu, and Hari Sree Ashokan were tried their best. Rest of the cast too comes up with a reasonable performance.

Coming to the direction, Sandya Mohan did try to make this film a good festive mood. And we can say he did succeed in his attempt. Udayakrishna – Sibi K Thomas team’s Script has nothing new and extra ordinary, however they packaged the whole movie such a way that we have enough fun, actions, emotions, and a nice romantic moments. The cinematography by P. Sukumar did help the viewer to celebrate this movie. The background music and songs by Suresh Peter suit the entire mood of the film. As usual Mahesh Narayan comes up with a good editing.

At the end film is mass masala entertainer and can be good watch with some nice funny moments!!
