Sameer Thahir’s visual extravaganza clearly takes our cinematic experience to an all new level. The hard work put in by the crew to shoot this film at extreme location surly get paid. Brilliently shot, with a great narration Neelakasam Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi is one of the not to miss film of the year. The combo of Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne once again looked superb with their chemistry. Veteran Bengali actor Dhritiman Chatterjee did stole our heart.
Neelakasam Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi does have its fair share of moments where it could have been better, however looking at the sincere effort the crew had put up to bring this marvelous cinematic experience, we can easily forgot those minor mistakes.
Film talk about two friends, Kasi (Dulquer Salmaan) and Suni (Sunny Wayne) who makes that decision to travel Nagaland from Kerala in their bike, to find Kasi’s love, Assi (Surja Bala) who is from Nagaland.During the journey to search his true love, destiny makes them discover India’s Social and Political affairs.
We can understand the true friendship, we will worry about the violence, we pity about the politics, and finally we can feel the love. Yes that is Neelakasam Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi experience. With a near perfect script from Hashir Mohammed, which has some amazing dialogues deserve a special mention. Sameer Thahir, this young director tell us big and loud, we should expect more from this young director. And easily make one of the talented young director of Malayalam to watch out for.
Each frames looked fresh and succeeded in bringing the colors of our land and emotions of the characters. For sure the cinematographer Gireesh Gangadharan put in lots of hard work and passion and that surly deserve to be acknowledged. The songs by Rex Vijayan and the back ground score, suit the mood of the film. Sreekar Prasad’s brillient editing also deserve to be mentioned.
Dulquer Salmaan, who already proved his passion, hard work and sincerity for acting through his earlier movies. And here too he brings the life of Kasi with at most sincerity, and was pleasure watching him on stage, getting to a matured actor movie by movie, frame by frame. Easily one of the best performance, like the one in Ustad Hotel.
For Sunny Wayne, he had proved with every film that, he is one of those young actors who is going to make big with his performance. With a stellar timing of his wits, he makes his role another jewel in his acting career.
Dhritiman Chatterjee, the legendary Bengali actor literally stoles our heart, with his immense experience, his performance was one of the key in NPCB. Surja Bala, the gorgeous Manupuri actress did a confident début in Malayalam and done justice to her role. Ena Saha also made a good début.
The rest of the characters, be it Joy Mathew, Pearle Maaney, Paloma Monappa, Avantika as Fatima, K. T. C. Abdullah, Vanitha Krishnachandran, Ajay Nataraj, Madhubaladevi, Bobby Zachariah Abraham too came up with some brilliant performance that makes Neelakasam Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi a pleasure to watch.
The film started slowly, before Sameer Thahir taking his time to make everything fall at right places. And at times film has some unwanted scenes and lags. Beside that, Neelakasam pachakadal chuvanna bhoomi is a brilliant movie which can be easily one of the great film of the year.
Finally Neelakasam Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, is a must watch for some brilliantly shot, executed, narrated and acted road movie. Which explores the social and political affairs of India. Which shows the power of friendship, family values and the search of a true love in a 2000 Km long bike journey from Kerala to Nagaland. Don’t miss it.
