Ustad Hotel Malayalam Movie Review
Ustad Hotel a story of love and relationship, a story of Ustad hotel, a film with an outstanding and refreshing tale, a film which has directed amazingly, a film which has got all emotions love, happiness & little pain, a film which got the best from its actors, a film which has the feel that ordinary people can relate to, and a film which stands a class apart from the rest!! Hats off to the entire Ustad hotel Team!!
Anwar rasheed who had given us some outstanding commercial films in his last outings, comes with another film, which may not be his usual style, at the end a real winner in making his best movie so far. Of course the brilliant writer Anjali Menon deserves a special mention for her script, which will help the audience to feel the charecters, as she did with her début Manjadikuru.
Film talk about the deep bond between a grandfather and a grand child, their love relations, little pain all drawn amazingly by both director and the writer. The film has Kareem (Thilakan) who runs a hotel named, Ustad Hotel. And we have his grand child Faisy (Dulquer Salmaan) to help him with the proceeding. At the end the film talk about the affection between Kareem and Faisy, and little surprises in their life. And we got a nice love story of Kareem too.
Dulquer who is selecting his movies carefully, comes up with a superb performance after his début Second Show, and there is no doubt his chemistry with both Thilakan and Nithya Menon was superb, and that helped his best performance as Faisy.
And it is veteran Thilakan after his much appreciated role in Indian Rupee comes again with a show stealing performance, and he proves again and again why he is called a legend.
Nithya Menon too come up with a splendid job, and she looks cute and given a good performance. The rest the cast, be it Mammukoya, Siddique, Lena and Bhagath Manuel given their best to a movie which got almost everything outstanding. And Asif Ali and Jishnu have a brief guest role too.
The technical team too added much needed support for Ustad Hotel, the songs by Gopi Sundar was already a hit and picturised well in the movie. The BGM was the one another success factor of Ustad Hotel. The cinematography by S.Lokanathan, and editing by talented Mahesh Narayanan was also good.
The film starts with some good comedy, and may feel bit dragged in the second half, and some characters presence was not that justified. At the end some minor faults which is a part of the proceedings can be easily forgettable, as the writer, director and the actors given their best shot. The dialogues are amazingly written. The producer Listin Stephen, who given as some great movies previously, can be proud again for bringing this tale to us.
